One of my favourite camping locations in the Flinders Ranges is Brachina Gorge. It is quite the feeling knowing that I am camping in the middle of land dating back 130 million years. In this context, it pales my existence to insignificance. Quite a humbling sensation.
I am usually an early riser, especially when I am camping. On this particular day, I walked across to the location where the picture was taken as it was a mere 10 minutes from camp and the previous day I had told my self I had to take a picture of the distant hills. As I got to the site, visibility was no more than 10 meters with heavy mist making it impossible to even get a glimpse of the foreground, let along the hills.
Several minutes after I had arrived, almost like a curtain at the theatre being raised up, the mist faded away revealing an amazing sight filled with colour and vibrancy.
